  • Day 1:Arrive Shanghai
    On arrival into Shanghai and stay there three nights.

    Day 2:Shanghai
    Run to Yu Gardens;strolling around the Old City Town; wander on the Bund;then pay a visit to Jin Mao Tower;take a short cruise meandering through Huangpu River,from where you can see the contrasting ‘traditional’ and the ‘new’ Shanghai;in the evening,check out an acrobatic show.(B/L/D)

    Day 3:Shanghai
    Take a look at the unique ‘Shikumen’ houses in Xintiandi;tour the very impressive Shanghai Museum where there will be plenty of time to wander through the many fascinating exhibits and displays.(B/L)

    Travel to Zhouzhuang,one of the most famous water townships close to Shanghai;transfer to Suzhou and stay there for two nights.(B/L)

    Day 5:Suzhou
    Visit the Humble Administrator’s Garden and the Master of the Nets Garden,two brilliant masterpieces of classical Chinese oriental gardens.(B/L/D)

    Day 6:Suzhou / Hanghzhou
    Hang around a local Silk Factory;take a cruise drifting along the canals;departing for Hangzhou by road and stay there two nights.(B/L)

    Day 7:Hangzhou
    Knock on the eminent Lingyin Temple,which considered as a leading centre for research relative to the Chinese Buddhist culture;visit the Pagoda of Six Harmonies;relaxing on the cruise slowly flowing on the West Lake;later maybe a local tea plantation (if time permits).(B/L/D)

    Day 8:Hangzhou / Xi’an
    Fly to Xi’an and stay there two nights;admire the ancient City Wall;tour the Big Goose Pagoda;ramble along the Muslim Snack Street and markets,where you can practice and improve your bargain skills.(B/L)

    Day 9:Xi’an
    Gaze in awe at the magnificent Terracotta Warriors,one of China’s widely-known attractions;sample a traditional dumpling banquet while watching a performance of Tang Dynasty Cultural Show.(B/L/D)

    Day 10:Xi’an/ Beijing
    Free in the morning;fly to Beijing and stay there four nights.(B/L)

    Day 11:Beijing
    Have a look at the exquisite architecture of the Summer Palace;stroll around ‘Hutongs’ by pedicab or cycle rickshaw to discover traditional local residential area;free in the afternoon.(B/L)

    Day 12:Beijing
    Climbing the Great Wall is something you won’t want to miss.It is an amazing experience whether you walk for five minutes or five miles;shopping and bargain around the Silk Market on your way back to Beijing city area;enjoy a ‘Legends of Kung Fu’ performance.(B/L)

    Day 13:Beijing
    Visit the decayed but still grandeur Forbidden City,the grand Tiananmen Square,and the architectural wonders of the Temple of Heaven;taste a traditional Peking Duck Dinner.(B/L/D)

    Day 14:Depart Beijing
    Farewell Beijing.This morning is free at your leisure before you are transferred to Beijing airport to board your overnight flight to Australia.(B)

  • Day 1 - Australia / Shanghai
    Check in at the airport on your Cathay Pacific/Qantas Airways flight bound for Shanghai. On arrival into Shanghai and after completing any necessary Customs and Immigration formalities you will be met by your friendly China Holidays guide who will transfer you to your hotel where you will spend four nights.


    Day 2 -  Shanghai
    After breakfast at your hotel you will depart for a full day tour of Shanghai. Your day will include a visit to the traditional Yu Gardens; the Old Chinatown with its twisting alleyways and many shops and hawkers and of course the Bund. Then over to Pudong to visit the Jin Mao Tower, still one of the world's tallest buildings where from the observation deck you will get a remarkable panoramic view of the city. There will also be time for a short cruise on the Huangpu River where you will see the contrasting 'traditional' and the 'new' Shanghai. In the evening enjoy a visit to an acrobatic show. (B/L/D)


    Day 3 -  Shanghai
    Today we start with a visit to Xintiandi where unique ‘Shikumen’ houses dating back from as early as the 1860’s have been carefully restored. After lunch you will visit the very impressive Shanghai Museum where there will be plenty of time to wander through the many fascinating exhibits and displays. (B/L)


    Day 4 -  Shanghai / Zhouzhuang / Shanghai
    We head out of Shanghai today to the town of Zhouzhuang, one of the most famous water townships close to Shanghai. It is noted for its profound cultural background, the well preserved ancient residential houses, the elegant watery views and the strong local coloured traditions and customs. (B/L)


    Day 5 -  Shanghai / Suzhou
    This morning you will be transferred to Suzhou. On arrival you will check into your hotel where you will stay the night. Today you will visit the Humble Administrator's Garden and the Master of the Nets Garden, two fine examples of classical Chinese oriental gardens. (B/L/D)


    Day 6 -  Suzhou / Hangzhou
    We continue today with a visit to a local Silk Factory and a cruise along the canals before departing for Hangzhou by road. On arrival, check into your hotel for two nights. (B/L)


    Day 7 -  Hangzhou
    In Hangzhou you will visit the Lingyin Temple. In 1961 the temple was listed for protection as a key provincial historical and cultural site and is considered a leading centre for research relative to the Chinese Buddhist culture. Then you will visit  the Pagoda of Six Harmonies before a relaxing cruise on the West Lake. If time permits there will be a visit to a local tea plantation. (B/L/D)


    Day 8 -  Hangzhou / Guilin
    This morning there will be some free time before you depart to the airport for your onward flight to Guilin. On arrival your local China Holidays guide will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel where you will spend two nights. (B/L)


    Day 9 -  Guilin
    This morning you depart for a leisurely cruise along the Li River. There will be plenty of time to relax and enjoy the views of the local people working on the river as well as the spectacular rock formations and picturesque landscapes. On arrival in Yangshuo there will be time to wander amongst the many street stalls and shops before you are transferred back to your hotel by coach. (B/L/D)


    Day 10 -  Guilin / Xi'an
    This morning there will be a visit to the Reed Flute Caves before departing for the airport for your flight to Xi'an. On arrival your local China Holidays guide will be waiting for you and will transfer you to your hotel where you will stay two nights. This afternoon a visit to the ancient City Wall, the Big Goose Pagoda and the Muslim Street. (B/L)


    Day 11 -  Xi'an
    Today you will depart for the Terracotta Warriors Museum, one of China's top historical sites. Here you will see the magnificent Terracotta Army of Emperor Qin Shihuang which has been painstakingly restored by archaeologists. On returning to your hotel there will be some free time. In the evening you will get the opportunity to sample a Chinese dumpling banquet and a performance of a Tang Dynasty Cultural Show. (B/L/D)


    Day 12 -  Xi'an / Beijing
    There will be some free time this morning for you to explore Xi’an at your own pace before meeting up with your guide for lunch. After lunch you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight to Beijing. On arrival into Beijing your local China Holidays guide will be waiting for you and will transfer you to your hotel where you will spend four nights. (B/L)


    Day 13 -  Beijing
    This morning you will depart to visit the the exquisite architecture of the Summer Palace, then there will be a visit to one of the few remaining 'Hutongs' the traditional local residential area by pedicab or cycle rickshaw. Here you will get a fascinating insight into the lives of the traditional Beijing citizens. After lunch you will have some free time to explore at your leisure. (B/L)


    Day 14 -  Beijing
    Today, the highlight for many a visitor to Beijing, a visit to the Great Wall of China at Badaling. This is undoubtedly one of the greatest man-made wonders of the world and there will be time for you to take in this architectural wonder. In the afternoon there will be a visit to the Silk Market where negotiation skills are put to the test as you seek out some of the many bargains before returning to Beijing where there will be time to freshen up before departing for a 'Legends of Kung Fu' performance.     Day 15 -  Beijing
    You will spend a delightful day visiting some of the major sights of Beijing. The Forbidden City, home to two dynasties of Emperors spanning 500 years; the famous Tiananmen Square, the heart of Beijing and the architectural wonders of the Temple of Heaven. This evening enjoy a traditional Peking Duck Dinner. (B/L/D)


    Day 16 - Depart Beijing
    Today you farewell Beijing and China as your guide meets you and transfers you to the airport for your onward flight. Check in aboard your Cathay Pacific/Qantas Airways flight for home. (B)
